Loving my new beast (Z8L Diesel, here!), but lately, I've been experiencing some niggling mechanical issues that are putting a damper on the ride. Anyone else facing similar problems?
Here's what I'm encountering:

  1. Mystery Engine Noise: There's this weird rattling sound coming from the engine bay, especially when accelerating. It wasn't there initially, so I'm a bit worried.
  2. Clutch Jitters: Sometimes, I feel a strange juddering sensation when I engage the clutch, particularly during slow-moving traffic. Shifting gears doesn't feel as smooth as it used to.
  3. Fuel Efficiency Blues: My mileage seems to have dropped a bit lately. I drive in a similar manner, but the fuel gauge seems to be dipping faster than usual.

These issues are making me wonder if there's a common problem affecting some Scorpio-N models. Have any of you experienced similar engine noises, clutch troubles, or a sudden decrease in fuel efficiency?
If so, what did you do to fix it? Did you take it to the service center? Sharing your experiences and solutions would be a huge help!

Man, I feel your pain! My Scorpio hasn't exactly been trouble-free either. Just like you, I've been battling some noise issues lately. 😫

There's this weird rattling sound coming from the engine. It wasn't there at first, you know? It creeps in especially when I accelerate, and it's like fingernails on a chalkboard. Took it to the service center, and let's just say it wasn't exactly a spa day. Long wait, met a mechanic who spoke in riddles, and in the end, they weren't convinced there even was a problem! Frustrating, right? I had to push back, explain it in detail, and practically beg for them to take a real look but then also they did not.

Now I have made a video of the problem and soon I will visit the service station again and show them. I will definitely share my experience here.

My father's Scorpio N had the same clutch issue and we had to get the clutch assembly replaced.

Replacing the clutch plate wasn't exactly a walk in the park, and it took the service center a full day to complete the job. But, hey, at least Bessie's gear changes are smooth as butter now! Tip for you: If you suspect clutch problems, don't let the service center dismiss it as "normal." Trust your gut and push for a proper inspection.

Now, I'm not saying my service center experience was a picnic. There were definitely moments of frustration. But by being persistent, documenting the problems, and advocating for myself, we got our car back in good shape. Here's hoping yours goes a little smoother! Remember, knowledge is power. Do your research online, be polite but firm, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Good luck! 👍 👍

I guess the fuel efficiency is also affected by the engine issue, get that checked and fuel efficiency should improve. Keep sharing your experience here so that we can help
